Description At 7 o'clok, 4 minutes and 13 seconds, Kito de Pavant and his men crossed first the arrival line of the second stage of the Istanbul Europa Race. After 1 day 18 hours 56 minutes and 13 seconds sailing between Nice and Barcelona, at the average speed of 9.57 knots, the team of Groupe Bel gets its first victory since many months. Disappointed not to be able to make their good sailing concrete ont he first stagen the Mediterraneans can savour in Catalonia the joy to win just before Michel Desjoyeaux (Foncia). At the end of 410 miles of a regatta that was said to be "limpid", the wide smile of those five boys illuminates the pontoons of Barcelona. |
