Description The sea, a source of resources and communication. Alexis Gourvennec, president and founder of Brittany Ferries, knew that the sea would become a very precious way to communicate for the cross-Channel business. In 1972, with the support of the vegetable cooperatives and the chambers of commerce of the North Finistère, the BAI is created with one objective : to make easier and to develop the vegetable exports towards Great-Britain and open the way to Brittany to the english tourists. This society was born by the will of men and the involvement of the community. Far away from the conflict of interests between private and public sectors, the creation of BRITTANY FERRIES allowed to join the energies. The regions of Brittany and Basse-Normandie pooled their skills to accentuate the development of those cross-Channel exchanges. 35 years after, Brittany Ferries, today the first shipping line in West and Central Channel, devotes its projects to the reinforcement of the efficiency and dynamism of those exchanges. |
