Description Even if the Breton coast, according to the weak winds and the strong currents, preserved the suspense, Michel Desjoyeaux and his team did not let go the success that beckoned them, after a fluent and exemplary sailing all along the third and last act of the Istanbul Europa Race. On board Foncia, they arrived in the middle of the dark night in Brest at 3 o'clock 50 minutes and 56 seconds am. After 7 days 15 hours 50 minutes and 56 seconds at sea since the departure from the Catalan city, they are winners twice : they win the last stage of the big tour of Europe, and they also win the final victory in the ranking by points, after the three circuits (before jury) and a long trip between the East and the West, from Istanbul to Brest via Nice and Barcelona. Happy, the double winner of the Vendée Globe adds another line to his still long record of achievements, and can savour iit with all his team. Interview after he has just left his boat... |
