Microprene or Shorty ?

Microprene or Shorty ?

I usually dive with a full 3 mm wetsuit. I have resisted trying a shorty because I am a klutz and figure that the full wetsuit saves me some scrapes. I am going to Bonaire in January and have been thinking that it would be nice to travel light. A shorty would be more packable and easier to deal with. On the other hand, a microprene, though thinner over the core, would offer more protection. Any suggestions?

Not sure how you are getting scrapped up, balance problems with entries and exits? Keep running into reefs and bottoms, those are buoyancy control issues. I dive Curacao and Bonaire with a skin. A full 3MM is overkill for the ABC islands. Perhaps you might want to look for a 1 or 2MM if you like to stay real warm. You can get some decent 1MM and 2MM mailorder for under $100.00
